Hanabi is a cooperative game, which means that all players play together on a team. The players have to play the fireworks cards according to colors and numbers. However, they do not see their own cards in hand, and so everyone is dependent on the advice of their fellow players.

Hanabi is characterized by a high level of originality and exciting gameplay. Due to a hitherto unique mix of cooperative, communicative and deductive game elements, Hanabi was named “Game of the Year” by the jury as “Game of the Year 2013” excellent.
